PleatedPants & GrassRootsMedia presents:

Ladies and gentlemen, first of all I apologize for neglecting to post for that past 2 weeks or so.

What has happened since then? Here is synopsis:

The Admissions Office had it’s world premiere at the X-Caliber vs. Praise Men stand up thang on campus. With my front row seat surrounded by my writer/actor and videographer/editor, I watched in amazement as 300 people watched something that I had a hand in creating. Hearing them laugh, hearing them cheer… it was like a great man once said (or just Steve Mann): Your video is like your child, and when the crowd is cheering it’s as if your child has scored the winning goal at a soccer game.

This project has been the most amazing experience of my life. Filming, and all that filming involves (laughter, awkward stances for shots, cell phones going off at the worst possible times, tongue twisters) is my thrill.

So here it is: The Pilot episode of The Admissions Office

Lost is answering questions and asking about 10 more.

Life is getting a little curvy and twisty, but I’m slowly figuring some stuff out.

My boss is a genius and deserves more than what people are giving him.

My new favorite people this semester (Yeah, I made a list): Chelsea, Jon, Steve, Joanna, RuthAnn, Naomi, Rob, Jeremiah, Dr. Morris, not to mention (although not a person) the lost and forgotten joy that I rediscovered.

Just embrace it

I had a lot of post ideas in the past week.

One was a reflection on an amzing sunday when I realized how little time I had been spending with God, when I needed Him most. This Sunday I was convicted and responded. I was blessed to see a young adult baptized after only being saved for about 2 weeks. The way he was led to salvation: he attended our church play, and was led to the Lord afterwords. I have never seen such a broken 20 something guy. You could tell how much salvation and living for the Lord really meant to him. And then Angie gave an amazing testimony on how God provided her a full ride scholarship when she thought she could never get anywhere in life having a baby to take care of and all. But God is in complete control.

But I really wanted to post on the rain.

After discovering that it was raining outside (right after 5th hour), I thought of how difficult it would be to film, walking around campus from building to building with that huge toolbox. But as I walked outside with my hood covering my head, I thought: why try, just embrace it.

Most people walk with their head down to block the rain from hitting their face. After getting sick and tired of seeing worms swarming the campus, I looked up… I let the rain hit my face.

Sometimes we need to just let the rain pound us in the face for it to get its point across. So let your eyes squint, let the cold water trickle down your cheeks, let your hair soak, dance in it, run in it, just embrace it. You will see how exhilarating it is when you try it.
