PleatedPants & GrassRootsMedia presents:

Ladies and gentlemen, first of all I apologize for neglecting to post for that past 2 weeks or so.

What has happened since then? Here is synopsis:

The Admissions Office had it’s world premiere at the X-Caliber vs. Praise Men stand up thang on campus. With my front row seat surrounded by my writer/actor and videographer/editor, I watched in amazement as 300 people watched something that I had a hand in creating. Hearing them laugh, hearing them cheer… it was like a great man once said (or just Steve Mann): Your video is like your child, and when the crowd is cheering it’s as if your child has scored the winning goal at a soccer game.

This project has been the most amazing experience of my life. Filming, and all that filming involves (laughter, awkward stances for shots, cell phones going off at the worst possible times, tongue twisters) is my thrill.

So here it is: The Pilot episode of The Admissions Office

Lost is answering questions and asking about 10 more.

Life is getting a little curvy and twisty, but I’m slowly figuring some stuff out.

My boss is a genius and deserves more than what people are giving him.

My new favorite people this semester (Yeah, I made a list): Chelsea, Jon, Steve, Joanna, RuthAnn, Naomi, Rob, Jeremiah, Dr. Morris, not to mention (although not a person) the lost and forgotten joy that I rediscovered.

Inside the Script Writer’s Room

Imagine for me a moment of unforgetable ecstacy. One of those, “This is quite possibly the coolest moment of my life” moments.

Like the moment when they announced you husband and wife. Or like the moment you got engaged.

Like the moment you could finally turn your tassle.

Like the moment of that first kiss from the one you love.

Like when your sitting in the Old Main conference room, pitching script ideas, reading hilarious lines, imagining camera angles, laughing hysterically, and feeling for the first time the slight touch of the future. I touched index fingers with the future (E.T. reference) and it was one of those “This is quite possibly the coolest moment of my life” moments.

I was so ecstatic sitting there, by my business partner, actually doing what I want to do when I get out of college.

On top of all of this, before I came to this meeting I was editing a movie that I get to have my name on!! I will be an editor in the credits of a Maranatha Video Production of a movie on Apologetics. I shot some of it, and I get to edit it! I get to have this for my portfolio (what tangible portfolio?)!! Which I must begin constructing… like I have time for that, HA!

GrassRootsMedia

So here is a little blog about the progress on GrassRootsMedia:

I have 4 thangs goin on at the moment: 1. Design a new Crazies shirt (for those of who arent at Maranatha, our school comes out with these school spirit type shirts during basketball season) for the Fall sports 2. Design a new logo for the soccer team 3. Make a movie for Student Body 4. Make a movie for my church on I Corinthians 13.

This would all be a lot easier if I had photoshop on my Mac. I actually found it for $300 on an academic software site. It was originally $1000! Good deal! Not that I actually bought it. I think I will stay a student as long as possible to keep getting these sweet discounts!

Iv’e e-mailed all my “models” for the Crazies shirt so hopefully we (Jacob Job and I) can shoot them infront of the green screen pretty soon. I am hoping next week sometime.

By the way, I have THE coolest job ever!! As Mel said when I was shooting, “This doesn’t feel like a real job. It’s like hey, I get paid to walk around and video people and events!”
